OK, one more email about the Special 8

Today 12/19, I spoke with Corey Atwell the Executive Director of the Glen Ellyn Park District. We discussed where the Park Board stands to approve their maintenance of the Special 8 from the DuPage Forest Preserve District (if they buy it). The one "sticking point" that remains is to have neighbors, village residents, etc., come forward as "Friends of the Special 8." This group would participate in semiannual cleanups and help direct them on the future of this parcel. Since nothing other than can and litter cleanup is needed now this is not much of a job. Please consider calling (630-858-2462) or writing (fax 630-858-2479, send mail to 185 Spring Ave, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137) the Park District. Tell Sandra Minogue, President; Ed Hess, Vice President and Corey Atwell the Executive Director you want to help.

IDEA, maybe those of you in other groups like the Sierra Club, Prairie Club, Runners groups, Scouts, Equestrians and Bicycle clubs can make a commitment of one workday a year to help pickup litter at the Special 8?

Please advise me if are volunteering so I can keep a master list for next Spring's (if we are lucky enough to get this done) Cleanup.
