THIS may be the Last step -- I have just learned the
Glen Ellyn Park District
has the decision on the Special 8 on their agenda
THIS TUESDAY 12/18 at 7:00PM.
Their meetings are held at
185 Spring Ave, Glen Ellyn, IL -- next to the intersection of
Spring and Rte 53.
Remember the DuPage
Forest Preserve District says they will not buy the Special 8 parcel
unless another agency takes over the property. We need the Park District
to assume the ownership of this parcel.
Public comment
is the first thing on their agenda
at 7:00PM Sharp. Note any folks on Ellynwoord can
come to this meeting first to speak out and then go over to the
pre-annexation meeting at the Village Hall.
If you cannot attend the meeting please consider dropping off a letter
to 185 Spring Ave. by Tuesday to the attention of Sandra Minogue,
President of the Glen Ellyn Park District.
STEP 2. Until we hear that the Glen Ellyn Park District
has agreed to
accept the Special 8 parcel if and when the DuPage Forest Preserve
District agrees to purchase the site, we have another path to travel.
Illinois legislators have $10million available to them to allocate to
save open space. Please take the time now to write your legislators and
ask them to help us Save these 8.3 pristine acres.
To find out who your state legislators are call 312-814-6440 to get
their names and contact information or click on this site:
http://www.elections.state.il.us/dls/pages/DLSAddresscrit.asp is the
site to find legislators name and contact info.
STEP 3. Letters to the Editor have an influence on
public opinion and
public officials. If you have written to all the officials please
consider a letter to the editor. Thanks again to Ken, Phil, Sandy, Sal
and others for their recent letters. This week's Glen Ellyn Sun has two
letters. Nice going Folks!
If any one needs more info or a lawn sign please contact me.
Thanks again for your ongoing support.
