Thanks for your follow-up calls. The Glen Ellyn Park District finally took official action this past Tuesday 1/8/02 to direct their attorneys to tell the County's attorney's they will accept the property (if the County buys it). An inter-governmental agreement will have to be completed and agreed to later to make the property management agreement official. The DuPage County Forest Preserve District Board of Commissioners are likely to vote on the approving the acquyisition of the Special 8 on this Tuesday, 1/15 at 9:30AM at the DuPage County Forest Preserve Headquarters at 3S580 Naperville Rd (1/2 mile south of Butterfield Rd) the entire DuPage Forest Preserve District Board of Commissioners will be meeting. It is our understanding they are likely to consider the approval of purchasing the Special 8 acres during this meeting. WE NEED TO ATTEND THIS MEETING. WE NEED TO FILL THE SEATS like we have done successfully at earlier meetings. We may not need to speak up but I will know more about that later. If you want to speak ask me about it at the meeting and I will know if they need to hear from us or just see us. Please help us by attending. The meeting will be quick. Remember, if they save the Special 8 we can block the extension of Whittier Ave. across the IL Prairie Path! Please SPREAD THE NEWS!
