Dear Sir or Madam:
My cousin, Fred Stark, and I are the co-authors of the book, The Living Legacy of the Chicago Aurora and Elgin, and we would like to inform you, and request that you let your members know, that supplies of this book are dwindling down. Fewer than 130 remain in our inventory. There may be a few more in the inventories of area retail stores carrying the book. In any case, however, we are not intending to have any more copies printed. When these are gone, that will be it.
So, if there are IPP members or readers of your Newsletter who have considered buying a book either for themselves or as a gift for a friend or relative, they may want to do so while supplies last.
As far as we are aware, The Living Legacy of the Chicago Aurora and Elgin contains the most comprehensive history of the development of the Illinois Prairie Path and of The IPP corporation to date. It also is the only book that combines the histories of the Illinois Prairie Path and the Chicago Aurora and Elgin Railway in one volume.
We appreciate the fact that you have featured our book on your website. Those of your members who have Internet access may want to be aware of our website at <www.wellerstark.com>. There, they can read the preface and table of contents of our book, and they can find sample photos and maps and ordering information.
Regarding the list of retail stores selling our book that you have posted on your website, if you can do so, you might want to delete Cardiff Brothers Trains in Geneva. They are no longer in business.
If possible, please add the following to your website:
West Suburban Model Railroad Center
105 S. River Rd. (III. Rte. 25), Suite E
North Aurora, IL 60542
The Book Nook
241 W. Wilson St.
Batavia, IL 60510
The book can also be ordered directly by mail for $54.95 plus $5.00 shipping and handling by calling 1-800-999-6901
or by writing to:
WS Publications
PO 364
North Liberty, IA 52317
Again, we thank you for giving space to The Living Legacy of the Chicago Aurora and Elgin on your website and for promoting it among your members and friends. We also thank you for all of your efforts to preserve and promote the Illinois Prairie Path and the memories of the old Chicago Aurora and Elgin Railway.
Very truly yours,
Peter J. Weller
