Come PERMABLITZ with us at the Ferry Forest Garden!  We get a lot accomplished at these events with the help of volunteers. Here is what we hope to accomplish with your help – harvest buckthorn and build at least one arbor, spruce up the garden, check and add caging, move a few plants, and renew fencing line. We are looking for 8-10 people, so invite a friend and volunteer a few hours. Short permaculture learning talks are included!

A Permablitz is a volunteer event for people to learn about permaculture while working on a project. These events are fun community experiences where new people connect, our combined efforts achieve faster results, and we enjoy good conversation, and a job well done.

The Ferry Forest Garden is planted on 1/3 acre of DuPage County right-of-way land along the Illinois Prairie Path, just west of IL 59 on the north side of Ferry Road. Please park along Rigi road (turn right under bridge).

This forest garden is 1 1/2 years old and, after this event, we will have sheet mulched, installed weed barriers, edged the perimeter with logs, built and planted a hugelkultur bed, and planted the tree and shrub layers!
